溫哥華號(hào)稱全球最宜居城市眾所周知，現(xiàn)據(jù)美國(guó)《國(guó)家地理》（National Geographic）雜志最新發(fā)表排行榜，溫市也躋身全球十大最佳海灘城市。該項(xiàng)十佳海灘城市排行榜顯示，西班牙巴塞羅那（Barcelona）擁有世界最佳海灘設(shè)施，其次是南非的開普敦（Cape Town），溫市則名列第十?！秶?guó)家地理》雜志指出，溫哥華是加拿大最富有探險(xiǎn)（adventurous）趣味的都會(huì)，全市共十個(gè)優(yōu)質(zhì)海灘，由適合全家玩樂(lè)的杰里科灘（Jericho Beach），到天體者趨之若鶩的爛船灘（Wreck Beach）都有。另外，溫市西區(qū)的英吉利灣（English Bay），除了是不少泳客消暑的最愛(ài)以外，該處灘頭更是每年國(guó)際煙花節(jié)匯演地點(diǎn)。剛過(guò)去的周末及上周三，先后在該灘表演過(guò)西班牙和美國(guó)隊(duì)的煙花作品。

Vancouver joins excellent company in receiving a top 10 beach cities accolade from the well-respected publication. Canada’s west coast city joins popular tourist destinations of Cape Town, Honolulu, Sydney, and Rio de Janeiro in the magazine’s ranking.

National Geographic ranked Vancouver in tenth place — after Barcelona, Cape Town, Honolulu, Nice, Miami, Rio, Santa Monica, Sydney and Tel Aviv.

Popular beaches with Vancouver visitors, and residents alike, include: Sunset Beach (English Bay), Kitsilano, Jericho, Third Beach (Stanley Park), Ambleside (West Vancouver). And another favourite beach of locals (who prefer to beachcomb naked) is Wreck Beach near the University of British Columbia on the city’s west side.
